Tasting Notes: This ´69 Longmorn arrived just in time for the Limburg Whisky Festival and was the best selling Whisky at our stand. Our guests who already knew Longmorns from the 60s liked this example because of its lack of too much woodiness. The ones who know only the Longmorns from the 70s or later were delighted with the flavours of exotic fruits.
First the nose gets a light fruity Sherry, some old Cognac than peach and cherry. With water you get more of the yellow fruits. The peach and the cherry develops together with the Sherry into a stronger note like ripe mango. The first sip convinces with nicely integrated alcohol. This brings a full but fresh mouthfeel. The full and fresh fruitiness encourages to keep drinking. But this Lomgmorn saves the best for last. Although one is already satisfied with a well balanced taste of Sherry, peach and cherry this whisky adds long lasting flavours of milk-chocolates filled with lemon syrup and ripe and sweet passion fruit at the end.
