Tasting Notes: Iodine, flintstone and cold smoke are the main characteristics of this bottling - both on the nose and the palate. Sometimes a slight metallic taste can be detected, particularly in direct comparison with our sherry matured counterpart of the same year. An interesting challenge indeed, for both whiskies are totally different.The
iodine sweetness of the ex-bourbon Caol Ila shows its potential when it successfully "fights" the smokiness. This one`s a good example of the usually high standard of Caol Ila whisky. One member said it tastes like "smoked ham candy" - if that existed...
